Our Tour Etna from Taormina combines fun and adventure. You will experience the heart of Etna. While traveling by jeet and minivan, we will cross two beautiful and well-known villages on the slopes of Etna: Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa, on the north of the volcano. We will then take the Mareneve road and get to the mountain chalet at 1500 meters. The excursion will begin with a visit to the 2002 and 2003 lava flows, among the volcano’s most powerful eruptions of the last decades as they destroyed completely Piano Provenzana. We will start 2-hour trekking inside a forest and explore impressive areas such as the ancient Sartorius Mounts’ craters, extinct craters that erupted in 1865. These are named after the German scientist Sartorius Von Waltershausen (1809–1876), who tried to catalog Etna’s volcanic activities and eruptions.
We will walk along these particular craters termed “a bottoniera”, seven marvelous aligned craters which have developed over time during Mount Etna’s eruptions. Embark on one of the most exciting and fun tours offered by MrExcursion!

Itinerary
Our driver will come to pick up you at your accommodation or at the established meeting point.
We will first give you the opportunity to have a coffee and use the toilet at the mountain chalet.
we will enjoy a breath-taking view and explore the 2002-2003 lava flows. We will visit a volcanic cave, a lava tube for an amazing caving experience in full safety while wearing a helmet and using a cave light. We will admire what rests on one of the largest eruptions of the last decades.
We will walk uphill and over craters termed “a bottoniera”, seven incredibly beautiful aligned craters which have developed over time during Mount Etna’s eruptions, and cross a pine and birch forest. This wonderful walk in nature will last about one and a half hours.
