We’ll travel by jeep or minivan through the picturesque villages of Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa on the volcano’s north slope. We’ll take the scenic Mareneve road to reach the chalet at 1,500 meters above sea level, where the real adventure begins.
Our guided tour of Etna begins with the impressive lava flows of 2002 and 2003, which transformed the landscape of Piano Provenzana. We’ll continue with an accessible trek through the woods of the Sartorius Mountains, craters formed by the 1865 eruption, until we “climb” a spectacular array of five eruptive cones. From here, the view is simply breathtaking.
The guided tour of Etna continues with an exploration of the Grotta dei Ladroni, a prehistoric lava tube immersed in the natural setting of the Piano delle Donne. Helmets and flashlights (provided) will allow you to enjoy a safe and exciting experience in the heart of the volcano.

We recommend dressing in layers (T-shirt, sweatshirt, jacket/windbreaker), bringing a light jacket or rain jacket, and wearing closed, comfortable walking or hiking shoes. A hat and sunglasses are also very useful.
