Tour program:
Our journey begins in the morning with a hotel pickup or a central meeting point in Messina. Aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan, you’ll travel along Sicily’s eastern coast, enjoying breathtaking landscapes between the sea and the hills.
We’ll arrive in Savoca, one of Sicily’s most charming villages, nestled between the sea and the mountains, perfect for a journey back in time. Here, time seems to have stood still.
- We’ll visit Bar Vitelli, where Michael Corleone, played by Al Pacino, proposed to Apollonia. This authentic bar still retains its 1940s atmosphere and numerous memorabilia from the film. You’ll have time to enjoy a lemon granita or coffee and take some wonderful photos.
- We’ll continue on foot through the cobbled streets to the Church of San Nicolò, where the famous wedding scene was filmed. Your guide will share anecdotes from the set, interesting facts about the film’s production, and the true history of the places that inspired Coppola.
During the walk, you’ll admire breathtaking panoramic views of the Ionian coast and Mount Etna in the background.
In the late morning, we’ll head to Isola Bella, one of Sicily’s most iconic locations, known as the “Pearl of the Mediterranean.” This crystal-clear bay was the location where some scenes from the second season of the TV series The White Lotus were filmed.
In an elegant seafront restaurant, you’ll enjoy a typical Sicilian lunch featuring fresh seafood, with dishes inspired by traditional cuisine but reinterpreted with a gourmet twist. The menu includes local appetizers, a first course, a second course, dessert, and a selection of regional wines.
After lunch, you’ll have time for a stroll or a swim in the turquoise waters of Isola Bella, connected to the mainland by a thin strip of sand.
In the late afternoon, after a day filled with excitement and beauty, we will return to Messina, with arrival expected around 4:00-4:30 PM.
